The Proline Parking Lot Maintenance team transformed the massive parking lot at the Shoe Show Mega Store from drab to fab.
Shoe Show hired the team for a crack seal, sealcoat, and restripe project to restore over 200,000 square feet of pavement and improve curb appeal.
Keep reading to learn more about how the team transformed their tired-looking parking lot into a beautifully delineated space from the curb to the door.

Detailed Quality Control and Touchups when done the project
Project Completion Time: 5 Days Spanning Over Two Weekends
Although this parking lot transformation had 3 phases – crack filling, sealcoating, and line striping – to minimize disruption for this super popular shopping center, we split the project in half. We repaired the cracks with hot crack sealer on the entire 200,000 SQFT and finished all phases of this transformation on the distribution center parking lot the first weekend.
The second weekend, we spent sealcoating and striping the store parking lot to finish the transformation of the massive 200,000 SQT pavement at the shoe show.
We worked Friday until dusk through Sunday, the first weekend, and the following Saturday and Sunday to bring this parking lot transformation to the finish line.
While we focused on the Distribution Center side of the building, the guys worked on prepping and crack-filling the entire lot.
Here’s how this 2-part, 3-phased parking lot transformation went.

Before beginning any project, we blow off debris, sweep, and clean the surfaces and cracks.

While some crew cut in the edges with sealant, others applied hot crack sealer to the asphalt seams, covering the five points of contact to ensure a perfect repair.
With the cracks sealed, we rejuvenated and restored the surface with the first layer of sealcoating.
We covered about 30% of this side of the parking lot with only a few hours of daylight.

We returned Saturday morning to apply the remaining first layer of sealcoating to this half of the parking lot and the second coat for a beautiful blacktop finish.
High-traffic parking lots, like the one at the Shoe Show Mega Store, require 2 coats of custom sealant to ensure lasting protection. We created a custom mix that resists power steering marks and improves traction during the North Carolina winter.
With all the sealcoating complete and given time to cure, we returned Sunday for line striping to finish the Distribution Center side of this 200 000 SQFT parking lot.

We finished the distribution center parking lot on Sunday afternoon. It looks amazing!!
Our crew returned the following Saturday to tackle the store-side parking lot.

We arrived Saturday morning to tackle the store parking lot to take this massive pavement restoration project to the finish line.
As we did on the distribution center side, we cut in the edges to create a smooth and seamless finish from curb line to curb line.
Once our sealcoating crew perfectly sealed the edges, we sprayed the rest of the surface with a custom sealcoating mix that can withstand the high traffic this parking lot receives.

A Proline crew sprayed the first layer of sealant on the store side of the Shoe Show parking lot.
We applied sealcoating using squeegees in tight spaces to avoid spraying sealant where it shouldn’t go.
Once the second coat was down, we took advantage of the sunlight and applied the second coat of sealant to the store side of this massive parking lot.
With the sealcoating down, we returned on Sunday to finish this massive parking lot restoration. It was time to paint the store side of this parking lot!
To bring this project home, we applied blue hatch marks for disability parking zones, white parking stall lines, ADA markings, directional arrows, loading zones, stop lines, stop bar markings, and pedestrian markings.

With crack repair, sealcoating, and line striping completed, the final step in this massive 200 000 SQFT parking lot restoration was quality control and finishing touches.
Even though we didn’t have the assistance of our trusty sealcoating machine, we never missed a beat and completed this project within the timeline.

The results were spectacular, and the owner of this Shoe Show megastore was thrilled!
